Directions to Baynesfield Estate

GPS Coordinates:
29°45’54.4392″S | 30°20’29.358″E

From Durban:

  1. Take the N3. Shortly after Camperdown, take the off-ramp to the left (Exit 61) for Eston, Umbumbulu, Richmond.
  2. After exiting the highway, turn right at the sign for Richmond/Thornville. Do not miss this turn.
  3. After about 15 minutes, you’ll reach a T-junction with a sawmill on your right and chicken houses in front. Turn left.
  4. Continue for about 500 meters, then turn right at the signs for Baynesfield and Baynesfield Estate.
  5. Travel approximately 5 km until you reach stone pillars and an avenue of Plane trees. Follow the gravel road to the end of the avenue.

From Pietermaritzburg (PMB):

  1. Drive the length of Alexandra Road, passing Southgate Shopping Centre.
  2. Bypass Thornville village, ignoring the turn to Umlaas Road.
  3. Shortly after, you’ll see a turn-off to the right for Baynesfield/Baynesfield Estate. Take this turn.
